LITTLE Samson Rajasingam and his father S. Rajasingam were playing a giant board version of the Snakes and Ladders game at Seremban Lake Gardens when someone asked to join them during their second game.
All three played the round, and eight-year-old Samson won.
Little did father and son realise at that time that the stranger was Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is also the Port Dickson MP.
A surprised Samson said that he had seen Aminuddin many times on TV, attending various events and greeting people with a big smile.
“I never dreamed he would play a game with us.
“It was a really fun game. We rolled the big dice and waited to see if we would land on a ladder to climb up or be gobbled up by a snake and sent falling down a few steps,” said Samson.
The Snakes and Ladders giant board game was part of the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Fun Run and Citra Santai Akademia Day jointly organised by UiTM and Seremban City Council.
A fun run around the scenic Lake Gardens was livestreamed to 13 UiTM branches nationwide.
Over 1,000 residents including present and past students of UiTM participated in the run.
After the run, various games were held with treats and gifts given to winners of each game.
Other activities like aerobics, traditional games, a 3R programme (reuse, reduce and recycle) and a cheerleading competition were also held.
