SHAH Alam City Council (MBSA) has launched its Shah Alam Landscape Master Plan 2035 Guidebook (Pilsa 2035), which comprehensively documents the city’s landscape development plan ahead of 2035.
The launch at MBSA Convention Centre in Shah Alam was attended by MBSA councillor Tengku Ahmad Tengku Kasim.
MBSA Corporate and Public Relation Division head Mohd Azhar Mohd Sharif said the guidebook would be the city council’s main reference for landscape development, control and enforcement.
“It will also be used to craft the implementation mechanism of MBSA’s integrated landscape development plan.
“With the guidebook, MBSA hopes to establish a smart, sustainable and world-class landscape identity in Shah Alam,” he said.
The Shah Alam Landscape Award (Alsa) 2023 ceremony also took place at the launch.
The award aims to raise awareness among Shah Alam’s community, especially youths, on maintaining cleanliness and beauty of their surroundings.
“It also recognises the schools’ effort in producing a conducive learning environment through design, development and maintenance of their landscape,” said Mohd Azhar.
SK Bukit Kemuning 2 won Gold Award for best primary school landscape, while SMK Section 16 of Shah Alam won Gold Award in the secondary school category, each taking RM7,000 in cash and appreciation certificate.
The awards were presented by Tengku Ahmad, accompanied by MBSA landscape director Majidah Md Ali and MBSA councillor Muhammad Shakir Ameer Mohideen.
Also present was Education Ministry Co-curriculum Development Division deputy director-general Nor Azwa Ab Mutalib.
