SUBANG Jaya City Council (MBSJ) won a gold medal at the 48th International Convention on Quality Circles (ICQCC) 2023.
Organised by China Association for Quality, the ICQCC 2023 ran over four days in Beijing, China.
According to the organiser, the convention served as a platform for those in the quality control sector to explore new ideas, share best practices, inspire one another to strive for excellence and embrace the spirit of innovation and vitality.
MBSJ won the gold award for its City Performance Management System (CPMS) innovation.
MBSJ was represented by its Corporate Dynamic team, comprising officers from its Corporate and Strategic Management Department and Information Technology Department.
In a statement, MBSJ’s Corporate Communications Division said, “MBSJ’s team competed against 587 teams from 13 countries, including 57 teams from Malaysia.
“The other teams came from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Mauritius, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Zambia.
“The CPMS is an innovative project designed to monitor the performance of yearly operational and strategic plans by local authorities as well as support the digitalisation efforts of the local authorities’ administration.”
The same project won the runner-up prize in the Social Innovation (Invention) at the Selangor Innovation Award 2023.
“This international recognition will serve as a catalyst for MBSJ as a high-performing local authority that is able to base its output, outcome and impact digitally rather than through conventional manual methods, in line with efforts to make Subang Jaya a Smart Vibrant City,” the statement said.
