SUNWAY University and College students delivered 280 Christmas gifts to children in local orphanages and refugee homes, including Rumah Hope, Rumah Juara and ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre (ERLC).

The Wishing Wall project was part of Sunway campus’ ongoing “Campus with A Conscience” initiative to encourage young people to give back and contribute to surrounding communities.

Sunway Education Group (SEG) chief executive officer Prof Datuk Elizabeth Lee said, “Small gestures have the power to create a positive impact.

“We are truly proud of our students for taking the initiative to share the Christmas joy and love with children from underprivileged communities.

“This is a prime example of our #CampusWithAConscience spirit which we at Sunway embrace and uphold.”

Arvin, 11, from Rumah Hope, could not hide his excitement when he received the gifts.

“Thank you for the presents, we are so happy! May God bless you,” he said.

Another 11-year-old, Sohail, a refugee from Myanmar, shared, “I’m very happy to receive the present!

“Today is our last day of school and we are having a party here to celebrate.”
