Foundation raises RM102,000 for underprivileged children from six homes

A special appearance by Santa Claus brings smiles to the children’s faces.

This Christmas, Tropicana Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd (“Tropicana”) brings smiles to 120 underprivileged children from six homes in Klang Valley.

Back for the fourth year, Tropicana’s annual Seasons of Joy & Giving charity drive raised about RM102,000 by setting up strategic donation drop-off points at Tropicana property galleries, Tropicana Gardens Mall and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

It also organised a festive luncheon event to commemorate the handover of donated goods.

Tropicana group managing director Dion Tan said giving back to the community was a meaningful way to celebrate Christmas and New Year.

“Having well surpassed our collection target in a short three weeks is a true testament to the commitment of our team at Tropicana in supporting the less fortunate.

“We are thankful to all our generous sponsors, Tropicana Foundation committee members and volunteers who have contributed their time and efforts to raise various funds from cash, food, vitamins to dry goods, for the children,” he said.

“This campaign is also in line with the foundation’s focus on Redefining the Art of Caring and the Group’s commitment to environmental, social and governance principles,” he added.

One of the biggest sponsors is VitaHealth, which donated more than RM41,000 worth of quality vitamins to the children and caretakers.

Other sponsors include Big Bad Wolf, Thai Odyssey, GSC, Burger King, Wow Media, Tropicana Alam, Curvena, MST Golf, Llao Llao, Tropicana Gardens Mall and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

The six homes are Rumah Kasih KL, Guardian Angels Home, Rumah Sentuhan Budi, Pusat Amal Cahaya Tengku Rahmah, Sweet Care Home and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Attaqwa.

Since its inception, the foundation has channelled more than RM23mil towards charitable causes in Malaysia.
