Elf squad delivers hope and presents to charity home

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia employees and children of Rumah Hope are all smiles during the visit.

THE holiday season was made merrier for 47 children at Rumah Hope in Petaling Jaya thanks to “Santa and his elves”.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s employees bought gifts for each child, ensuring the presents aligned with individual hopes expressed on the little ones’ wishlists.

The gifts were delivered by employees affectionately referred to as the “elf squad”, in a fleet of Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles that had been transformed into festive sleighs adorned with reindeer decorations.

Upon their arrival, the elf squad engaged the children in games and placed their individual wishes on a Christmas tree.

The children also had the chance to showcase their creativity by crafting paintings reflecting the essence of Christmas and sustainability.

A surprise appearance from Santa brought delight to the children as he handed out gifts.

The event concluded with the children and elf squad sharing a meal that brought smiles all around.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia chief executive officer and president Amanda Zhang said, “As we wrap up a meaningful and impactful year, our annual ‘Christmas in a Shoebox’ stands as our commitment to community engagement.

“It was a joy to see the children at Rumah Hope happy. Our employees also had fun doing their bit to create a better, more sustainable future for the next generation.

“With sustainability being our guiding principle, we have consistently created a positive impact through our corporate social responsibility initiatives which included the Grants for Good campaign and our renewed partnership with Nicol David Organisation’s Little Legends initiative.

“In doing so, we also fostered employee camaraderie and relations, unity and cohesiveness across the company towards good causes.”
