This cozy Japanese-style bar is renowned for its collection of over 600 rare premium whiskies and sophisticated cocktails that use Japanese spirits blended with quality ingredients
From Jan 19 to 21, Endo, a Fukuoka native and Mizunara group beverage director, brings his signature flair to Langkawi.
There will be three concoctions inspired by the Year of the Dragon, available exclusively at Horizon.
The bar takeover also marks the start of the resort’s guest bartender programme for 2024, where a guest bartender will take over Horizon each quarter.
Guests of The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi will be able to enjoy an extraordinary cocktail experience while admiring the sunset at the resort’s award-winning adults-only infinity pool.
Endo’s three exclusive drinks are Dragon’s Breath, Savoury Plum Sour, and Gems from the Forest.
Dragon’s Breath lives up to its name, being a spicy cocktail combining red dragonfruit puree with chilli. The herbal notes from Tamras Gin blend with the mixture, bringing sweet and sour notes.
Savoury Plum Sour uses Japanese elements such as shochu and umeshu. The Hachi Komekasu has the aroma of aged sake which blends well with the fruitiness from Kumquat Umeshu and the umami flavour from the preserved plum-infused Fino Sherry.
Gems from the Forest is inspired by the ancient rainforest of Langkawi. Endo created this delicate cocktail in gratitude to nature.
Aged inside a wooden cask, Yamazakura whisky is used and blended with matcha from natural fresh tea leaves, along with almond milk and maple syrup that comes from the forest.
This cocktail is a rich, creamy liquid dessert bursting with natural flavour.
