Ministry’s initiative offering daily necessities at discounted prices drew one million visitors to 649 events in Johor last year

SALES worth RM26mil were recorded from Jualan Rahmah by Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) last year.

Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said the initiative saw more than a million visitors.

“We conducted 649 Jualan Rahmah programmes from March to December, which saw RM26mil in sales.

“This included three outdoor programmes in Kluang, Segamat and Johor Baru in November for Deepavali shoppers.

“We also organised a large-scale Karnival Rahmah Kasih Sayang Bangsa Johor in Pasir Gudang in the first week of December,” she said when contacted.

Lilis said 357 of the events were indoor, 25 outdoor and 267 in the mobile mode.

“The mobile programme is the most well-received.

“KPDN organised indoor programmes in all 26 parliamentary and 56 state constituencies,” she added.

According to Lilis, Johor KPDN is planning to organise Jualan Rahmah programmes twice monthly this year in all 26 parliamentary constituencies starting this month.

“We are planning to have 624 programmes this year.”

Johor KPDN is also working with seven strategic partners in offering daily necessities at discounted prices.

“The products at Jualan Rahmah sales are offered at discounted prices of between 10% and 30%,” said Lilis, adding that it was supported by the state government, local councils and non-governmental organisations.
