THE Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will monitor trading activities at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa closely to ensure the comfort of surrounding residents.
In a statement, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the department had received complaints from residents in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa expressing concerns about their housing situation, as the area was now filled with traders allegedly operating without business licenses along Jalan Kuantan, Jalan Temerloh, and Jalan Tembeling, causing traffic congestion.
She said that she chaired a meeting with DBKL to address this issue.
"DBKL’s census revealed that only 39 out of 108 vendors possess business licenses while 69 operated without them.
"DBKL has been instructed to monitor all business activities in the area. DBKL is also tasked with re-establishing control over the park area in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa within a month to ensure its original purpose as a family recreation centre is reinstated.
"I am committed to reviewing relevant policies, including the need to amend pertinent by-laws to address issues of this nature," she added.
