New place for wining and dining, Japanese style

THOSE who love Japanese liquor and other spirits now a new store to visit in Isetan Kuala Lumpur at Suria KLCC.

City Cellar showcases a select range of award-winning sake, wine and liquor plus a delicatessen of gourmet meats.

One can enjoy a curated menu at its dine-in Gastrobar by Black Market Restaurant & Lounge. The menu includes a vast variety of portfolio beers, wines, sake and whisky.

Isetan Kuala Lumpur general manager Kenichiro Asako, at the launch, said visitors to City Cellar could embark on an extraordinary journey into the world of exquisite Japanese liquor, beer and spirits.

“As for the Gastrobar, it is ideal for cosy gatherings over fusion Malaysian cuisine with drinks, either refreshing draft beers or your favourite liquor from City Cellar,” he said.

Black Market group managing director Chris Chang said Black Market was established nine years ago in Kampung Pandan.

“Black Market also serves bah kut teh with iberico pork.

“In this collaboration with Isetan, we created Kakuni don – braised pork belly done Japanese-style with Japanese rice.

“Guests can come here and order food and drinks, even bottles and no corkage is charged.

“We have Hoegaarden beer, and soon, we will launch red and white wine by glass,” he added.

The launch kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the traditional Kagami Biraki ceremony which calls for the symbolic opening of the sake barrel.

VIPs present included Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Kenneth Soh and commercial director Sean Soh, Suria KLCC chief executive officer Francis Tan and Isetan Kuala Lumpur managing director Yeow Kah Chong.
