Saipolyazan Yusop is the new Selangor MBI CEO


Selangor Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI) has announced the appointment of Saipolyazan M. Yusop as its new chief executive officer.

He replaces Norita Mohd Sidek, who held the position since August 2020.

Saipolyazan, who has over three decades of experience across various industries, was previously Selangor MBI's chief operating officer.

Amongst others, he was formerly the CEO of Lembaga Zakat Selangor and Executive Jet Aviation Sdn Bhd.

He had also served at Petronas, Telekom Malaysia and Celcom Axiata.

Saipolyazan is also a member of the Energy Commission.

In a statement on Thursday (Feb 6), Selangor MBI said it welcomed the appointment of Saipolyazan and expressed confidence in his ability with his over 30 years of business expertise to propel the company forward.

"With his excellent track record across various sectors, we are confident that the collaboration and synergy between MBI and the state government can be driven to higher levels to realise the state's sustainable development agenda," read the statement.

During the handover ceremony, Selangor Mentri Besar and MBI chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said that Saipolyazan's dynamic leadership and skills would be valuable to the company as it pushes for further transformation.
