Batik, congkak, kampung house among highlights of mall’s deco
GUESTS from all over the world can experience the allure of Malay culture intricately woven into decorations at a mall for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.
The “Magnificence of Raya” campaign at The Exchange TRX, in Kuala Lumpur captured the essence of traditional Malay culture with its designs.
It is a captivating visual and experiential showcase celebrating Malay culture, tradition and artistry.
The mall’s central area is adorned with a picturesque yellow Malay kampung house, complemented by charming huts, rest areas, colourful flowers, and adorned with bird cages and a yellow hornbill sculpture, tender to eyes.
It showcased architecture, design and traditional Malay cultural items such as the wau bulan and congkak.
The bunga raya is displayed prominently in the centre of the mall, with glimpses of it throughout the premises.
The primary design element, featuring Malaysian-inspired floral batik, is incorporated into nearly every fabric of design.
The decoration also features giant mechanical flowers that mimic the gentle sway of the wind – an ode to Malaysia’s scenic landscape.
There is also a giant art installation at TRX City Park inspired by a dish synonymous with Hari Raya – the ketupat.
This, too, is seen throughout the mall.
Guests can also enjoy silat and wayang kulit performances accompanied by a cak lempong and kompang troupe, every weekend until April 21.
Throughout this campaign period, guests and UOB or Citi-branded card members can expect to be rewarded with exclusive gifts from The Exchange TRX.
