MR DIY Group (M) Bhd has achieved yet another milestone with the unveiling of the first thematic MR DIY Plus store at IPC Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya.

What sets the 1,190th store under the MR DIY brand apart from other outlets is its international concept, featuring Instagrammable spots of popular global destinations throughout the store, which spans 2,136.7sqm.

Visitors can check out its Dubai’s Miracle Garden, Turkiye’s famous hot air balloons in Cappadocia and Middle Eastern-themed Eid decorations.

Knowing how much Malaysians enjoy travelling and taking pictures, MR DIY Group chief executive officer Adrian Ong said they created a store showcasing some of the world’s most iconic images to enhance customers’ shopping experience and increase their enjoyment.

“This is our first themed MR DIY Plus store and our commitment to our customers is to regularly create fresh concepts to keep their shopping experiences exciting.

“MR DIY Plus brings all the brands together under one roof, namely MR DIY, MR DOLLAR, MR TOY and EMTOP, to provide shoppers a wide range of everyday essentials.

“We want customers to be entertained, have fun, be educated and be inspired, while shopping for daily essentials at ‘Always Low Prices’.

“Here, I would like to thank the management of IPC Shopping Centre, who worked in collaboration with us, to realise this vision, as well as our team to make this happen,” said Ong, during the store’s grand launch.

Also present at the opening ceremony of MR DIY Plus were retail management regional manager Jannice Tan, group strategy senior vice president Soo Sze Yang, business development head Apple Lim, marketing head Alex Goh and retail management branch manager Farhana Mohd Yusof.

MR DIY Plus also features, for the first time, the full range of EMTOP hardware tools and equipment.

The store also has several unique features, including an interactive wall, eco-corner, workshop event space and creatively designed corners.

The MR DIY brand was launched in 2005, followed by MR TOY in 2019, MR DOLLAR in 2020, MR DIY Express in 2021 and MR DIY Plus in 2022.

The group is also a master franchisee of the EMTOP brand in Malaysia, and opened its first EMTOP store in 2023.

Currently, the group has more than 1,200 stores nationwide.

A series of celebratory activities and promotions are being held at MR DIY Plus’ IPC Shopping Centre store until March 31.
