Facilities for police in Pelawan to get RM700,000 upgrade

A TOTAL of RM700,000 will be spent in rebuilding and upgrading several facilities for the police force in Sibu.

Sarawak Deputy Public Health, Housing and Local Government II Minister Datuk Michael Tiang said the money would come from his Rural Transformation Project (RTP) 2024 fund.

He said the allocation was approved under the Pelawan constituency RTP.

“Taman Rejang police pondok will be rebuilt at a cost of RM200,000.

“Facilities at Sungai Merah police station will also get a RM200,000 upgrade,” he said.

He added that he had approved RM100,000 for the construction of a children’s playground at Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD) and another RM200,000 for the reconstruction of a gazebo.

He was speaking during a Khatam Al-Quran and breaking of fast event with the Sibu police.

Also present was Sibu district police chief Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili.

“The police should have good facilities to support them in providing good services to the community in Sibu,” said Tiang who is also Pelawan assemblyman. ― By ANDY CHUA
