A groundbreaking ceremony was held for Pekan Sentral Phase 3 and Pekan Nenas Industrial Park Phase 5, marking the start of the next stage of the commercial development in Pontian, Johor.

The project is developed by Paragon Bizhub Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Paragon Globe Bhd (PGB).

“We are proud to be involved in the development of Pekan Nenas.

“Today’s groundbreaking is a significant step towards creating a lively business environment that benefits both investors and the local community,” said PGB group executive director Datuk Seri Godwin Tan Pei Poh at the ceremony.

He added that it also showed the company’s commitment to establishing a vibrant and expanding business ecosystem for the local community, as it would create job and business opportunities for both youth and local entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth and enhancing community prosperity.

“Pekan Sentral has achieved a take-up rate of over 85%.

“This achievement highlights the enduring attraction and quality of Pekan Sentral,” he said at the event launched by Pekan Nenas assemblyman Tan Eng Meng.

Pei Poh also announced an upcoming launch of a workers’ hostel project.

“This hostel, comprising four blocks of five-storey walk-up buildings, will provide comfortable accommodation for 3,600 workers of Pekan Nenas,” he said.

Also present at the event were PGB executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng, senior general manager Tan Hui Boon and general manager Tang Pei Hau.

Pekan Sentral is a modern project located in Pekan Nenas Industrial Park.

Its third phase comprises 48 units of two- and three-storey shop offices, with built-up areas ranging from 2,926sq ft to 5,815sq ft.

Pekan Nenas Industrial Park Phase 5 comprises four single-storey detached factories, with built-up areas ranging from 20,843sq ft to 28,808sq ft.

The final phase of these two developments is targeted to be completed by 2026, with an estimated gross development value of RM92mil.

Currently, Paragon Bizhub is constructing two factories in the area for Shimano Components (M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of a Japanese multinational manufacturing company, based on a design and build concept.
