Yayasan Mr DIY has launched its first scholarship programme, providing a boost to Malaysians seeking financial assistance in their pursuit of further education.

The Yayasan Mr DIY Scholarship Programme aims to support deserving undergraduates with strong academic, leadership and community service records by easing their financial burdens.

The foundation announced its first two recipients – Cheong Wai Kee, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, as well as Tan Zhi Liang, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting.

Both are fourth semester and second semester students respectively at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) campus in Kampar, Perak.

Announcing the launch of the scholarship programme, Yayasan Mr DIY chief executive officer Zaleha Mohd Mydin said,“We believe in the transformative power of education and we are committed to providing opportunities for promising students to realise their potential.

“This scholarship programme provides financial assistance to undergraduates who demonstrate exceptional academic prowess, leadership capabilities, and a dedication to community service.

“Cheong and Tan have both demonstrated such qualities and we hope this recognition and support will inspire more young Malaysians to strive for the same.”

Zaleha added that it was the company’s aim to positively impact young Malaysians, empowering them to become leaders and change-makers who would improve lives for generations to come.
