Accountancy centre launches college in JB

Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence extended its reach to Johor Baru with the soft launch of Sunway TES College Johor Baru (JB).

The college director Dr See Hoon Peow said the expansion represented a significant milestone in Sunway TES’ dedication to delivering top-tier education and fostering the growth of future accounting professionals nationwide.

The soft launch event featured a ceremonial inauguration, campus tours, comprehensive programme overviews, and sharing sessions by alumni of Sunway TES.

Prospective students and their families took the opportunity to find out more about the programmes offered at Sunway TES College JB, including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) qualifications.

Guests who attended the launch included Yayasan Peneraju chief executive officer Ibrahim Sani, BDO managing partner Datuk Gan Ah Tee, E&Y Asean Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness leader, partner and Malaysia talent leader Lee Soo Fern, Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) chief executive officer Fann Kor, Chinese Chamber of Commerce council member Datuk Teo Ee Piau, PKF chief executive officer Vincent Chew, McMillan Woods managing partner Datuk Seri Raymond Liew, PwC partner Manohar Johnson, KPMG partner, audit Chan Yen Ing, Baker Tilly partner Huang Shze Jiun, and Sunway Iskandar chief executive officer Gerald Soosay.

Representatives from Deloitte, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, Metropolitan Corridor Sdn Bhd, National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) and AMC Group were also present.

The centre has a history of nurturing graduates who excel in accounting and finance sectors, boasting a high employability rate and forging robust industry partnerships.

It has created over 1,000 prize-winners in Malaysia and globally across the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy, ACCA, and ICAEW programmes.

By expanding to Johor Baru, Sunway TES aims to empower more students to pursue their passion for accounting and realise their professional aspirations.
