Global artist to hold fun kids art workshop at Kuala Lumpur hotel


The workshop by Jardin promises art taught to kids in an inspiring way.

AMONG kids art activities this month that promises to be fun and inspiring a is workshop by award-winning regional artist Anna Karina Jardin, the founder and CEO of Artdialogo Asia.

Filipino-born Jardin, who is now based in Malaysia, began her artistic journey in 2009.

Her work has since become recognised by institutions across the world.

She held her first solo exhibition in 2014 and installed numerous art murals across Asia as well as Europe.

Jardin was an inaugural fellow of the Asean Youth Fellowship Programme 2018, presented by the Singapore International Foundation and National Youth Council.

In 2019, she became the first Filipina to instal a 30.5m long mural in Chandigarh, India.

Two years later, she produced a collaborative piece “Rights to Passage” in support of girls’ rights in this shared capital city of India’s northern states of Punjab and Haryana, where she collated 550 stories of resilience among girls.

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines named Jardin as one of the 80 Young Women achievers in 2021.

At the 15th Global Youth Peace Festival held in Malaysia, she received the Global Youth Icon Award.

In Spain, Jardin was recently appointed by The Gabarron Foundation and the Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum official ambassador to promote the #kids4humanrights in Asia contest as well as conduct workshops.

Kids aged four and up are invited to sign up for the “Art Up” event at Table Talk, Mezzanine Floor of Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur.

Organised in collaboration with Artdialogo Asia, the event is scheduled for this Saturday from 11am to 1pm.

The workshop is priced at RM150 nett per child and includes art materials and lunch.

At the end of the workshop, one of the children’s artworks will be chosen as a masterpiece.

The child artist of this work will be presented with a one-night stay in a Malayan Tiger-themed room at Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur.

Valued at RM488 nett, the themed room caters to two accompanying adults and comes with breakfasts for two adults and two children.

The prize-winner will have the opportunity to win a surprise prize when they complete a colouring poster found in the themed room and hand this over to the Front Desk upon check out.
