THE launch of GoodMorning Global Group’s VGrains drink’s new look started on a lively note when its executive chairman and founder, Datuk Dr Lim Sin Boon, greeted attendees with a cheery “Good morning” despite the fact that it was already well past noon.

To mark the occasion, Lim also donned a purple jacket to match the powdered drink’s new packaging and the colour theme for the event.

Held at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Lim’s sunny introduction was an apt way to present a multigrain drink that was originally designed as a breakfast beverage.

Invited as a guest of honour to launch the event was Bioeconomy Corporation non-executive chairman of the board of directors, Datuk Dr Lee Boon Chye, who was also deputy Health minister from 2018 to 2020.

In his speech, Dr Lee commended Lim’s 16-year-old food technology company for successfully converting research into end products.

“The star ingredients in VGrains have gone through extensive research in collaboration with local universities, including Universiti Malaya and the Management and Science University, to win awards at industry events.

“The products from the GoodMorning Global Group are not only found in local markets, they are also sold globally.

“I am excited to hear of their foray into the Middle East markets by venturing into the halal industry.

“This will certainly extend the footprint for their products and create sustainable growth for the corporation,” said Dr Lee.

With 60 million servings sold, the group’s target market are adolescents, in view of their lifestyle which sees them spending long hours with digital devices.

Additional event highlights saw One Heart Group chief executive officer Dr Mah Chin Liang give a talk on ways to care for one’s eyes.

Attendees were also encouraged to take part in a game to gauge their eye health.

The game required them to look, count the number of hidden items and write them on a pass in order to redeem a gift.

In addition, attendees were given free samples of the new drink, which has a trademarked formula.

Those who tasted the beverage, with its enhanced formulation, described it as having a rich berry flavour with hearty hints of nuts.

The attendees were also introduced to another one of the company’s products, GSure.

Like VGrains, GSure is also plant-based and lactose-free. The company stated that GSure had been tested for low glycemic index.

Established in 2008, GoodMorning Global Group is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest multi-grain-based product company.
