A total of 190 buyers of Rumah Perakku in Taman Tualang Baru, Tanjung Tualang, Perak, received keys to their dream home at a Perak Housing and Real Estate Authority (LPHP) event.
Malim Nawar assemblyman Bavani Veraiah said the project’s first phase was completed within 38 months, targeting the B40 group, who have never owned a home, Bernama reported.
“This project comprises three phases. Phase One involves the construction of 190 units of affordable single-storey houses.
“Phase Two involves 43 double-storey houses and Phase Three – 86 units of low-cost single-storey houses.
“We handed over keys to the house owners under the first phase, who received the certificate of completion and compliance (CCC) on April 15,” she said at the event on behalf of state housing and local government committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching.
Bavani added that the state government prioritised the need for affordable housing for all sectors of the population.
“The current Perak state housing policy mandates that every development of a housing scheme exceeding eight hectares must be built with 10% low-cost houses, 10% medium-cost houses and 20% affordable houses,” Bavani added.
“This policy aims to ensure balance in the provision of housing for all income groups and ensure that every housing scheme that exceeds eight hectares offers a certain number of houses to be sold for as low as RM90,000 per unit,” she said.
She added that the sale price of one-storey affordable houses in Taman Tualang Baru was set at a minimum of RM180,000 for each intermediate unit with an area of 1,102 sq ft.
