PANTAI Hospital Klang, a healthcare provider for more than 40 years in the city, has launched its new catheterisation laboratory.

The facility is equipped with a cardiac imaging system featuring a 20-inch detector.

The detector is an addition to the hospital’s cath lab, making Pantai Hospital Klang the first in the Klang district to offer this technology.

According to the hospital’s media statement, heart disease persistently ranks among the leading cause of premature deaths in Malaysia and it mostly affects individuals aged between 30 and 69.

“In 2022, heart disease accounted for 18.4% of all medically certified deaths, signalling an urgent need for innovative solutions to combat the health crisis,” the hospital stated.

Pantai Hospital Klang chief executive officer Rachel Yew said, “We are pleased that Pantai Hospital Klang is the first to offer this advanced technology here, providing residents of Klang and its surrounding areas with convenient access to life-saving cardiac interventions.

“Our cath lab, which is equipped with an advanced cardiac imaging system, reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the community’s healthcare needs.

“This development not only strengthens our capacity to provide top-tier heart care but also reaffirms our commitment to quality care and accessibility.

“Pantai Hospital Klang aims to remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation, ensuring we continue to be a leading provider in the district.”

Yew said the advanced cardiac imaging system in the new cath lab was essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

At the cath lab’s launch, Pandamaran assemblyman Tony Leong Tuck Chee highlighted the impact of this new facility.

“The advanced capabilities of this new cardiac imaging system represent a significant leap in diagnosing and treating heart and vascular diseases.

“This facility is not just about adopting new technology.

“It’s about improving outcomes and saving lives in our community,” he said.
