Working mums in Selangor urged to apply for MamaKerja incentive

THERE are still 1,000 slots available to apply for incentives under MamaKerja, an initiative to ease the burden of working mothers in covering childcare costs.

Selangor women and family empowerment, welfare and care economy committee chairman Anfaal Saari said the state government had approved 4,042 applications since MamaKerja's inception in November.

"The initiative targets 5,000 working mothers in Selangor with a total allocation of RM5mil where RM1,000 will be directly deposited into the beneficiaries' bank accounts.

"From November to May, we received a total of 6,094 applications.

"However, 2,052 applications were rejected for not adhering to the eligibility criteria or missing the application deadline," she told a press conference at Bangunan SUK in Shah Alam on Thursday (July 11).

"Applications can be made through the SELangkah app or via the website mamakerja.selangkah.my starting today.

"Applications will be processed on a 'first come, first served' basis," she said.

Working women born in Selangor or residing in the state for more than 10 years, with three children aged 12 or below and a household income of RM8,000 or less, are eligible to apply.
