Home appliance maker reaches out to consumers via contest

Midea Scott & English Electronics Sdn Bhd has partnered with Premier League football team Manchester City to launch the “Buy Win Fly 2.0 Campaign” at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Partners since 2020, their first “Buy Win Fly 1.0 Campaign” was held from July 1 to Sept 30 last year.

This year’s contest is being held until Aug 31.

Consumers who buy any Midea product are entitled to an entry.

The grand prize is a trip to the United Kingdom for two, with VIP access to Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club.

Runners-up stand a chance to take home Midea 4-Door Inverter Quattro Refrigerators and 3-in-1 Cordless Wet and Dry Floor Washers.

Midea’s current plans are to fly their grand-prize winners to England in December 2024.

In conjunction with the contest, Midea is re-introducing their mobile truck which will travel to nine locations in peninsular Malaysia.

The truck is making stops in locations in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Perak and Selangor until the end of August.

It will allow the public to test out 16 Midea products that have been launched this year. Among these are portable air-conditioners, washing machines and rice cookers.

“The truck allows us to engage with potential customers as well as our business partners,” said Midea management department general manager Mark Tam.

Midea honorary chairman Ng Kong Chin said the company would be introducing many more smart products.

“Soon, all of our products will be controllable via the smart home app no matter where you are in the world,” he said.
