THE annual flower and garden festival in Putrajaya is set to return from Aug 22 to Sept 1. It will bring together various plant species from 10 countries.
The Putrajaya Flower and Royal Garden Festival (Floria), in its 13th edition, will be held by the lakeside in Precinct 2.
The event's tagline is “Celebrate Together.” Petunia will be the theme flower in recognition of its colourful petals and popularity among gardeners.
In a statement on Thursday (July 18), Putrajaya Corporation, the organiser, said the event would also include garden exhibitions by more than 30 organisations.
“They include government agencies, private companies, florist associations, traders and higher education institutions,” it said.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territory) Dr Zaliha Mustafa and Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud attended a pre-launch of the event at Monumen Alaf Baru, Precinct 2, Putrajaya.
Other exhibitions include indoor flowers from 10 countries, various types of orchids, bonsai, and terrariums.
More than 100 activities were also planned, including workshops and more than 50 stalls selling flowers and crafts.
Floria will be held Monday through Thursday (9am to 10pm) and Friday through Sunday (9am to midnight).
