A PHOTO contest is being jointly organised by Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) and Perak Chinese Photographers Association (PCPA) to promote tourism in the state.

PCCCI deputy president Datuk Ng Yok Gee said the “Beauty of Perak” photography contest aimed to showcase Perak’s scenery and food culture.

“The theme of the contest includes Perak’s tourist attractions such as heritage buildings, cave attractions and lifestyle.

“The contest is held in conjunction with the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) and Visit Perak Year 2024,” he told a press conference in Ipoh.

The contest is open to all Malaysians aged 16 and older and submissions will close on Aug 25.

Ng said there were no restrictions on the use of photography equipment such as cameras, mobile phones or drones.

Photographs must be uploaded to the participant’s personal social media platform like Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #PCCCIPERAK2024 and #TravelPerakLah.

They are also to be submitted to pcpacontest@gmail.com along with the participant’s name, address, MyKad number, contact number and email address.

Ng said the first prize was RM2,000, followed by RM1,000 and RM800 for second and third places, respectively.

There are also five merit prizes each worth RM200 and 10 consolation prizes valued at RM100 each, while all winners will receive a certificate.

All submissions must be the original work of the photographer.

Each contestant is limited to a maximum submission of 20 photos.

Participants can only win one prize in the first to third place categories, and are entitled to a maximum of two prizes for each of the merit and consolation prize categories.

Ng said PCCCI also planned to host a “Post Convention Business and Investment Tour” from Sept 12 to 14, following the WCEC in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 9 to 11.

“We hope these two activities can further promote business and tourism investments in Perak,” he said.
