Giving back to society while building profits is the basis of Sunway Group’s operations.

The mantra of “doing well by doing good” has guided the group’s decisions over the past five decades.

Fittingly, this is the theme of Sunway’s 50th anniversary.

As one of the group’s 13 business divisions, Sunway Malls has played a huge role in bringing the Sunway experience to various communities.

Sunway Malls is inviting shoppers to experience the celebrations, with a chance to be rewarded for their shopping while also enjoying Sunway Malls app perks.

The campaign until Aug 4 is organised in partnership with UOB and Sime Darby Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia.

The launch of the anniversary celebrations, dubbed “Cheers to 50”, was held at Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Sunway Malls and Theme Parks chief executive officer HC Chan alongside Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Giza and Sunway Square senior general manager Jason Chin were present.

In attendance too were Sunway Putra Mall senior general manager Danny Lee, Sunway Big Box Retail Park and Sunway Citrine Hub general manager Allan Tay, Marketing and Business Innovation general manager Loo Hoey Theen and Sunway Pyramid Ice, Sunway Square and Sunway Giza assistant general manager Albert Cheok.

“It is certainly a momentous milestone as Sunway Group celebrates its 50th anniversary,” said Chan.

Guests and mall visitors were treated to a performance by Batteryheadz Entertainment.

Sunway Malls’ most supportive shoppers, Sunway Super app’s top spenders and members of the media were among 30 contestants of a shopping spree challenge.

Participants were gifted all the goodies they managed to put in their trolleys during the contest.

The top 10 fastest entrants to complete the shopping spree also went home with shopping vouchers.

Sunway Malls is offering rewards worth up to RM1mil for shoppers who meet a minimum purchase across multiple receipts.

These prizes include limited-edition tumblers, cash vouchers from outlets such as Diamond & Platinum and Thai Odyssey, gift cards from businesses like Switch and Jaya Grocer, and subscription codes from WeTV.

Each redemption earns a shopper an entry to a lucky draw, where they may win an electric BYD Dolphin, Ogawa massage chairs, unlimited adventures with AirAsia Move’s Asean Explorer Pass, stays at selected Sunway hotels, Sunway Medical Centre health packages and Sunway Theme Park passes.

The Super Rewards Fiesta by Sunway Super App runs until Aug 31.
