UPGRADE works on Jalan Bandar Puchong Jaya in Puchong are expected to be completed in August.

During a site visit on Tuesday (July 30), Selangor investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the project, which costs RM747,174.20, is now 48% complete.

"The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Jalan Pipit and Jalan Bandar Puchong Jaya, especially during peak hours.

"It can save motorists heading towards the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) about 10 minutes," said Ng, who is also Kinrara assemblyman.

The project, which began on Feb 21, seeks to widen Jalan Bandar Puchong Jaya (LDP-bound) by adding an extra exit.

The 700m new lane starts near the junction between Jalan Helang 4 and Jalan Helang 1 (opposite Sri Tanjung Apartment) and ends at the turn towards LDP on Jalan Bandar Puchong Jaya (near Jalan Belatok).

The project also involves cutting down trees, installing street lights, kerbs and scupper pipes, as well as building a pedestrian walkway, according to a statement by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).

Also present during the site visit were Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim and MBSJ Engineering Department director Dr Mohd Ariffuddin Kamari.
