PENGURUSAN Air Selangor Sdn Bhd clinched the Company of the Year in the Water Services – Community Care category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024.

The event was officiated by Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

Air Selangor chief executive officer Adam Saffian Ghazali described the award as a reflection of the company’s commitment and ongoing efforts in improving the lives of grassroots communities in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

“It is also in line with our brand promise to ensure ‘joy in every drop’ for our 9.3 million consumers.

“This recognition also reflects Air Selangor’s dedication to maintaining high-quality water services and our continuous, diligent efforts in promoting sustainability and social responsibility.”

Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative “Sesama Mara”, Air Selangor has implemented three main programmes – Box of Hope, Festive Celebrations for the Underprivileged (Festive CSR) and Empowering Online Learning – supported by the Hydro Heroes staff volunteer programme.

Box of Hope has benefitted 5,775 families since 2020.

Air Selangor has also contributed to welfare homes during festive seasons.

Since 2021, the company has distributed aid to 3,746 recipients in 54 welfare homes.

Its Empowering Online Learning programme has enabled B40 students to have access to quality education.

In addition, the company teamed up with Pandai Education to provide access to the Pandai Premium application, a comprehensive digital education subscription plan.

To date, a total of 375 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia students have benefitted from this access.
