More than RM1.3mil in prizes have been given out to 415 customers by Malaysia’s biggest Islamic cooperative bank.

Bank Rakyat, which held four campaigns – “Tulus Ikhlas”, “Penuhi Impian”, “Cabutan Setengah Tahun Akaun Pelaburan-i Rizq Plus” and “Emas 2 Kilo” – over several months, rewarded 17 grand-prize winners.

The bank’s chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohammad Hanis Osman said, “For seven decades, Bank Rakyat has been committed to strengthening our relationship with customers through value-added benefits and rewards through campaigns for customers.”

During Ramadan and Aidilfitri this year, the bank organised its “Tulus Ikhlas” campaign that gave customers a chance to win prizes totalling over RM400,000.

The first prize of that campaign went to Siti Sarah Sayip from Yong Peng, Johor, who drove home a Proton X90.

Che Shariful Huzir Che Saari from Kuantan, Pahang, won the second prize of a Proton X70, while third-prize winner Muhammad Farid Farhan Fazlee from Kangar, Perlis, received a Proton X50.

Aligning with the “Madani Family” aspiration, Bank Rakyat also launched the “Penuhi Impian” campaign to support customers in financial need.

With funds of RM177,000, the campaign fulfilled the dreams of 10 customers who needed home renovations, kitchen upgrades, shop improvements and various agricultural ventures, among others.

Held for the fourth time, the bi-annual “Cabutan Setengah Tahun Akaun Pelaburan-i Rizq Plus” saw the grand prize worth RM100,000 awarded to Anuar Abdul Ghani from Kuantan, Pahang.

Since its inception in July 2022, the investment product campaign has selected 2,961 winners, including four recipients of RM100,000 prizes and one winner of the RM1mil prize.

The “Emas 2 Kilo” campaign, on the other hand, served as a token of appreciation for customers who have shown continuous support for Ar-Rahnu, the bank’s Islamic pawnbroking business.

This initiative was also designed to encourage more customers to use the Ar-Rahnu Pawn-i service.

The “Gadai dan Menang” campaign, now in its sixth year, distributed 2kg of gold worth RM637,000 among 270 winners.

The grand prize of 500g of gold worth RM150,000 was won by Faridah Matt from Pokok Sena, Kedah.

Mohd Suhairy Abd Rahman from Ampang, Selangor, secured second place with 100g of gold valued at RM35,000.

Meanwhile, Aminah Alias from Langkawi, Kedah, clinched third place, receiving 50g of gold worth RM20,000.

Pointing out that Bank Rakyat will approach its 70th anniversary on Sept 28, chairman Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak restated the bank’s commitment to outstanding banking services and innovative financial solutions.

“Bank Rakyat’s commitment to transformation and excellence can be seen through the various products and services offered.

“From financing products to savings and investments, as well as comprehensive financial planning products, we strive to meet the needs and aspirations of our diverse spectrum of customers,” he said.

Mohd Irwan added that Bank Rakyat also continued to innovate to ensure its offerings remained relevant and beneficial.
