Boost for airport shopping experience

Hani: We aim to enhance the overall atmosphere and provide a variety of options that cater to every taste and preference.

An airport shopping campaign is making a comeback, following successful runs boasting increased sales.

Licence To Win (LTW) 2024, running until Dec 31, offers shoppers a chance to win RM1mil in vouchers and other prizes.

The campaign launched at Sentul Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, features appearances by local artistes and influencers including Alif Satar, Scha Alyahya, Awal Ashaari, Daiyan Trisha, Nazreem Musa and Azfar Heri.

Guests dressed in their finest for “The Million Possible” theme inspired by blockbuster spy thrillers.

Malaysia Airports in a media statement said it recorded a 27% increase in sales in 2019 through LTW, with sales receipts surpassing RM178mil.

Jason Goh, 25, drove away a McLaren 570S Coupe, the grand prize for that year.

“We are thrilled to bring back LTW 2024 to provide a unique and rewarding shopping experience for our customers and travellers,” said Malaysia Airports commercial services senior general manager Hani Ezra Hussin.

“This initiative aligns with our commercial reset strategy to elevate the shopping experience with the exciting retail offerings at Malaysian airports.

“Since 2019, we have significantly expanded our retail offerings to create a more enticing shopping and dining experience for our visitors.”

Hani added, “By introducing a diverse range of new outlets, we aim to enhance the overall atmosphere and provide a variety of options that cater to every taste and preference.

“Simultaneously, this presents a fantastic opportunity to introduce our vibrant retail landscape and drive sales for our airport retailers.

“We expect to achieve more than RM200mil in sales receipts from LTW 2024.”

Through strategic initiatives, Malaysia Airports has empowered retailers, facilitating increased sales and engagement.

To enhance visibility and impact, the company provided retailers with marketing support through shopping campaigns.

As of March 2024, there are new stores open across all airports while duty-free outlets are getting major facelifts to elevate the airport shopping experience.

LTW retail partner Eraman Duty Free has revamped two of its stores in KLIA Terminal 1, while more stores are undergoing renovation for reopenings in the fourth quarter.

To participate in LTW 2024, shoppers and diners can submit their entries online through the campaign’s official website licencetowin.com.my, or manually via contest entry forms or digital kiosks.

Shoppers need to spend a minimum of RM350 in a single receipt and present a maximum of two receipts on the same day to qualify for one entry.

They can also spend a minimum of RM350 at any Eraman store to get double entries.

Participating airports are KLIA Terminals 1 & 2, Penang International Airport, Kota Kinabalu International Airport (Sabah), Langkawi International Airport (Kedah) and Kuching International Airport (Sarawak).

The main prize is a RM1mil shopping spree, followed by shopping sprees worth RM50,000, RM30,000 and RM20,000.

There is also a monthly prize of a RM2,000 shopping spree each for four winners, and a bonus RM10,000 shopping spree exclusively for entries from Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Kuching.
