A NEW health clinic is needed in Kabah and Nanga Dap in the Kanowit district of Sibu, Sarawak.
Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana said these were huge areas on the other side of Sungai Batang Rajang which had many people needing a medical facility.
He said he would propose the project to the Rajang Central Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA) committee.
“We hope this clinic will become a priority for the Ngemah area,” he said after the handover of land compensation cheques for various road projects in the area.
Anyi said building the clinic would involve significant costs.
“The Kabah and Nanga Dap areas are all complete in terms of facilities such as water, electricity and schools.
“Only the clinic is missing,” Anyi added.
In terms of development, he said the two areas were ahead of other places in the state constituency.
“Residents in this area have no issues; everything is smooth, and the residents always cooperate in any type of development the government wants to implement, such as the construction of a road,” he said.
Anyi said the road project, which was roughly 7km long, would benefit surrounding residents.
“If there is a road, surely other facilities (development projects) will follow and have a positive impact for the residents of the area.”
At the ceremony, a total of 69 landowners received a compensation cheque amounting to RM1.67mil from the Sarawak government.
The event was attended by Sibu Land and Survey Department superintendent Mohamad Muazziz Othman and Kanowit District Officer Jackline August Jahar. — By ANDY CHUA
