National month: DBKL offers special rate on compounds arrears until Sept 30

KUALA Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is offering special rates on compounds arrears related to traffic and general offences, from Aug 1 until Sept 30.

DBKL, in a statement, said that the discount was in conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations.

For traffic offences (such as parking offences and others), the special rate is RM10 for motorcycles; RM20 for cars, MPVs and small lorries; and RM50 for buses and lorries.

For general offences (hawking, licences and others not involving foreign nationals), it is a flat rate of RM100.

However, the special rate does not apply to the following types of offences:

i. Offences that have been blacklisted.

ii. Offences under the Transportation of Material (WPKL) 1997 and the Wholesale Market (WPKL) 2002 by-laws.

iii. Offence of employing any foreign national without a valid work permit under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries (WPKL) 2016 by-law.

iv. Offences of employing any foreign national under the Licensing of Hawkers (WPKL) 2016 by-law.

v. Offences under the Hotel Act (WPKL) 2003, Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992, Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982, as well as offences related to building approvals under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.

vi. Traffic offence notices issued through Section 53 of the Road Transport Act 1987 (bus lane offences).

The compounds can be paid via the Pay@KL mobile app or at DBKL counters.
