Bandar Kinrara intersection badly in need of redesign

I AM writing to urge the relevant authorities to redesign the Bandar Kinrara intersection at the PETRONAS petrol station.

This is the intersection near the Kinrara/Bukit Jalil tunnel entrance (Jalan Kinrara 5 joining into Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil).

The intersection is very poorly designed and unable to accommodate the rush of traffic in the mornings and evenings, leading to severe traffic congestion.

This has to change. It has been like this for years but nobody seems to care.

Furthermore, there are potholes everywhere.

Think about parents sending their children to school on motorcycles and how dangerous this can be for them.

I have written to the authorities about the intersection several times but have not received any response.

I am quite certain there are ways to improve traffic flow.

Traffic in the area has grown far beyond the capacity this intersection was designed to cater to.

Although there is a nearby light rail transit (LRT) station, the traffic only seems to be getting worse.

Maybe Transport Ministry officials should pay a visit to the site in the mornings on a weekday to see what the situation is really like.

I hope the relevant authorities will take the initiative and look into this matter to see how it can be resolved.
