Healthcare education made fun

SunMed Health Carnival returns on Sept 8 with family-friendly activities and education.

SUNWAY Medical Centre will be organising its SunMed Health Carnival to educate the public about healthcare, through various fun activities.

The second edition of the carnival is set for Sept 8, 10am to 4pm, at Tower D lobby of Sunway Medical Centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

There will be interactive healthcare education activities for all ages.

Registered patrons can participate in the carnival’s first hands-on batik workshop, where they can discover and create their masterpieces for free.

The public can also join various health-themed educational games, including those that test memory, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.

These interactive and educational activities enable participants to gauge their perception and specific physical abilities, as well as provide a learning experience.

The carnival will also host various booths by household brands with exclusive offers.

There will be photo booths dotting the lobby for carnival visitors to capture memorable moments.

Sunway Medical Centre business development and corporate communications senior director Tan Mei Shin said the upcoming carnival was part of continued efforts to blend wellness with the joy of learning.

“At the same time, the carnival aims to encourage and empower the public to make more informed decisions towards adopting healthier lifestyles,” she said.

The first 100 early-bird registrations will get to redeem a mystery gift.

Registrants also have a chance to win lucky draw prizes during the carnival.

The hospital’s inaugural carnival last year was attended by some 1,900 people.

The event featured an array of family-friendly educational activities tailored for children and introduced them to the world of healthcare.
