The World Sikh Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (WSCCM) held an insightful dialogue with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad on several critical health issues.

Held at The Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur, the event covered topics like the government’s strategies to curb excessive sugar consumption and promote healthier lifestyle choices among Malaysians.

Dzulkefly said this was crucial in tackling public health challenges.

He also highlighted the ministry’s commitment to advancing healthcare through digitalisation and shared plans to develop a nationwide portal that would integrate medical records across government and private healthcare facilities.

Dzulkefly also underscored the importance of preventive medicine, noting that the ministry is investing in public education to improve health awareness and practices.

These efforts were part of a comprehensive approach to modernise the healthcare system and ensure better health outcomes for all Malaysians, said the Health Minister.

WSCCM president Jalbir Singh Riar said the organisation was keen to work with the ministry and other stakeholders on health programmes.

Jalbir also highlighted WSCCM’s role in building stronger business connections and creating opportunities for growth within the Sikh community.
