AN abandoned housing project in Taman Desa Anjung in Sepang, Selangor, is expected to receive the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) next month.
With this development, 18 double-storey bungalow owners can breathe a sigh of relief after 12 years of waiting for their houses.
Deputy Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu said all the supporting documents relevant to the issuance of the CCC had been obtained.
In a Facebook post, Aiman, who is also the Sepang MP, said each unit was priced between RM567,728 and RM1.2mil, with the project’s gross development value (GDV) totalling RM14.8mil.
She said the first sale and purchase agreement (SPA) was signed on Dec 24, 2010, and the project was supposed to have been completed by Dec 24, 2012.
“The project was at 97.5% completion but the developer failed to obtain the CCC within a stipulated time period after failing to meet a few technical conditions set by Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang).
“KPKT declared it an abandoned project on Feb 9, 2022.”
Aiman said the ministry’s Private Housing and Abandoned Projects Task Force (TFST) had, since 2022, worked on completing the project.
“Among the issues that were solved include building a Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) substation and a proper entrance, as well as obtaining the permit to lay utility cables,” she said.
On the status of housing projects placed under TFST monitoring, Aiman said 231 were delayed, 382 were labelled sick and there were 114 abandoned projects with a total GDV of RM147.28bil.
“Between December 2022 and July 2024, TFST successfully completed 757 projects, involving 89,165 housing units with a GDV of RM63.27bil,” she added.
