IN TODAY’s fast-paced world, travelling has never been easier or more rewarding, especially when you can handle all your transactions digitally and seamlessly.

With this in mind, MATTA Fair 2024 will allow visitors to sign up for an innovative financial solution aside from finding travel deals.

This is thanks to RHB Banking Group (RHB) stepping up this year as Exclusive Platinum Sponsor through a strategic partnership with Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA).

The bank’s Multi Currency Visa Debit Card/-i offers unparalleled convenience for travellers and supports 34 currencies including the ringgit.

Visitors to the fair, which will be held from Sept 6 to 8 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec), Kuala Lumpur, will be able to apply for the facility at a special booth.

MATTA Fair president Nigel Wong said he found the debit card very convenient during his recent trip to Turkiye, as he only needed to use the bank’s mobile app and convert to the local currency.

He added that he only needed to top up his savings account and he was good to go.

“It will be very easy and convenient to get the debit card at MATTA Fair without needing to go to the bank,” said Wong.

Head, Consumer Finance, Group Community Bank, RHB Banking Group , Sien Vee Loc said that with over 12 RHB counters set up at the fair, customers can open a multi-currency account and get the debit card, all within 10 minutes.

Highlighting the card’s user-friendly features, Sien said the facility could be instantly connected to Apple Pay and Google Pay, allowing customers to manage and convert currency via the mobile banking app with no limits.

At MATTA Fair 2024, RHB will also offer travellers an array of exclusive promotions and travel-related deals for domestic and international travels, he said.

He added that visitors to the fair could explore these offers at RHB booths located at Level 1 (booth 1E13) and Level 2 (booth 2H01) at Mitec.

In the RHB Travel Bonanza Campaign, visitors can walk away with rewards worth RM30,000 including luxurious cabin-sized luggage valued at over RM3,000 each.

Sien said customers using RHB Visa Credit Card/-i or RHB Visa Debit Card/-i could also enjoy up to 60% off on flights and accommodation when booking through CIT Travel Agency.

Additionally, he said customers who spend RM500 or more in a single transaction using digital wallets would receive a Visa Olympics travel bag.

“They can start using the card at the fair itself and immediately enjoy the benefits,” he said, adding that RHB also offered an instant gift for debit card applicants during the fair.

The RHB Multi Currency Visa Debit Card/-i saw a 51% year-on-year increase in user base and a 36% rise in spending by July 2024, said Sien.

MATTA is providing free shuttle services for visitors to the fair from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall.

MATTA Fair 2024 is open from 10am to 9pm. Admission is free.
