JALUR Gemilang holds a special place in the hearts of all Malaysians.
Adorned with four colours – red, blue, yellow and white – the national flag evokes a sense of pride and love for the nation.
Its 14 alternating red and white stripes represent the 13 states, and the Federal Territories.
The blue symbolises unity while the crescent highlight Islam as the official religion and the yellow signifies the royal colour of the rulers.
In conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day, many are finding creative ways to showcase the flag to commemorate the occasion.
At various government agencies, the grounds are decked with many Jalur Gemilang.
Schools too, have joined in the fiesta by organising parades and runs to instil patriotic spirit among students.
Some traders, meanwhile, are tapping on the festive vibe by selling Merdeka-themed merchandise.
