This experience awaits diners at Mercure KL Glenmarie’s Urban@13 Rooftop Bar in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The venue blends comfort with sophistication, offering an idyllic setting for dinners and lively gatherings.
Its executive chef Zaharullail Ashari said the spread was ideal for diners looking for comfort food in a laid-back setting.
“We’ve created a relaxing atmosphere for families and friends to dine, and unwind after a long day.
“We have several protein-based menus which include prawns, chicken, lamb, beef and fish,” he said.
Zaharullail said the idea for the barbecue, which came from the hotel’s top management, was first realised in March.
“Since then, the number of patrons has increased steadily.”
Here, meats are grilled upon request with diners having the choice of sitting in the al fresco dining area or indoor section.
Zaharullail said the highlight was the salad counter featuring fresh vegetables harvested from the hotel’s garden.
The wide selection of salads are served with dressing options such as sesame sauce, soy sesame and Thousand Island.
He recommended the grilled ikan terubok, a speciality that has quickly become a favourite among regulars.
For those who appreciate a perfect blend of spice and sweetness, the marinated chicken wings are a must-try.
Each bite offers a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of well-seasoned flavour.
The lamb shoulder, grilled to perfection, is another highlight.
Its fall-off-the-bone meat is enriched with a hint of smokiness that complements its rich and savoury taste.
If you’re in the mood for something savoury, the chicken sausages are firm yet juicy.
The seabass, meanwhile, is a delicate masterpiece, with flaky, light flesh and crispy skin providing the perfect contrast.
Each of these dishes come with a selection of sauces such as barbecue, rosemary, mushroom cream and black pepper.
On the side, diners can find baked potatoes generously topped with sour cream, and classic corn on the cob.
To finish on a sweet note, there are fruit and marshmallow skewers next to rich chocolate fondue fountain.
Available every Friday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, this experience is priced at RM78+ (adults) and RM58+ (children aged seven to 11).
