OVER 150 employees of Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) Selangor took part in a fun run to capture the spirit of unity and freedom.

The 4km “Larian Jiwa Merdeka MBI Selangor” flagged off from Bangunan Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam, winding through four checkpoints across Taman Tasik Shah Alam before ending back at the start.

The programme aimed to remind staff that Malaysia’s independence should be appreciated and preserved.

“It is hoped that such a programme will celebrate independence and help to unite the staff,” said MBI chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop.

He said the organisation would look for more of such opportunities in the future.

“In terms of MBI’s planning towards achieving our business strategy Thrive28, we are aiming for MBI to be inclusive and sustainable.

“We want to support these efforts and indirectly show that MBI, as a state-run company carrying out investment and public programmes, can return the state’s wealth to the people of Selangor,” he said.

Also present during the run was state football player Faisal Halim and KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir.

Children from the Little Leaders Kindergarten also took part in the event, which featured a performance by Kuala Lumpur Pipes and Drums troupe. — By MEGAT SYAHAR
