Another milestone in affordable housing was achieved when keys were handed over to Idaman BSP homeowners in Bandar Saujana Putra in Jenjarom, Selangor.

Idaman BSP is one of the sub-developments under the Rumah Idaman MBI project, offering various layout designs priced from RM250,000.

The project aims to address the acute shortage of affordable housing, particularly for the B40 and M40 groups.

Idaman BSP comprises 1,312 apartment units across two blocks on a 7.8ha site.

The units come with appliances such as air-conditioners, refrigerators, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, television sets and water heaters.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said an additional 2,916 units would be handed over next year.

“By 2026, we will deliver 3,442 units from three ongoing projects.

“So, within two years, about 6,358 Rumah Idaman units would have been handed over to their owners,” he said at the handover of the keys.

The ceremony was organised by Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Selangor government under Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), in collaboration with MGB Bhd and LBS Bina Group Bhd.

PNSB chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said the partnership with MGB Bhd aligned with their aim to improve housing access for the public.

“This collaboration has a significant impact on providing affordable and high-quality housing for everyone,” he said.

MGB group executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San expressed pride in collaborating with the government to realise the vision of making housing accessible to all Malaysians.

He said MGB’s construction industry experience had enabled it to build high-quality Rumah Idaman homes, setting a new benchmark for affordable housing in Selangor.

“Our goal is to ensure that the upcoming Rumah Idaman MBI projects are launched smoothly and are seen as a stepping stone for continuous growth in the coming years,” he said.

New houseowner Calvin Tan, 33, said he and his family were excited to move into their new unit after nine years of renting houses.

“I feel fortunate being able to buy an affordable unit, especially considering how expensive houses are these days.

“With a unit costing RM250,000, I only pay RM1,100 a month.

“What is even more meaningful is that I save a lot because this apartment comes fully furnished with appliances and furniture,” he added.
