On Sunday nights, the Lighthouse trio of Gerard Singh, Vijay David and Raymond Chia entertain with a mix of retro tunes.

Fresh from celebrating its first anniversary, Rockafellers Petaling Jaya continues to turn up the heat with a selection of great music.

This Sunday night, Rockafellers Live Series presents “Kaya: The All White Party” from 8.30pm onwards.

Join the five-piece outfit as they jam up a storm dressed in white.

Come Sept 15, the action gets more intense with the Much Music Fest 3.0, hosted by Sheena & Snoopy G with DJ Jazzie Jay showing just what a veteran can do on the decks.

Three bands – The Empress, Gareth & Friends and rockers the Eurasian Quattro – will take the stage too for the fest also billed as the Ultraviolet Luminous Party.

Next Friday’s offering proves to be an interesting one as On A Trip takes the stage, while the first open mic slot of the day will feature comedy from Daryl Lim.

On Saturday, head honcho Brian Gomez is back on stage for a night of original folk rock.

There is no cover charge but a minimum tip of RM10 for the musicians is expected.

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the elegant Jao Tim serves up an interesting array.

As an events space, the outlet gives life to a whole new set of musical offerings that includes something for just about everyone.

Tomorrow night, it’s all about Sprock (soul, pop and rock) with Michelle Nunis taking the stage.

On Sept 11 and 12, Yang Wei Han and Tay Cher Siang pay tribute to the legendary Leslie Cheung, focusing on songs from Cheung’s comeback to his passing.

Jazz fans in the Klang Valley have another new venue to enjoy. Originally making its presence felt in TREC KL, Simply Jazz by Tin Box has moved to Publika for a whole new groove.

This offers a breath of fresh air for jazz fans in the suburbs who’ve long had to make the trek into the city to get their kicks.

Tonight, pianoman Michael Veerapen is back to lead the band, with chanteuse Junji Delfino singing out strong.
