THE Section 7 lake in Shah Alam, which was temporarily closed after a crocodile sighting, has been reopened to the public.

In a statement, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said recreational activities such as jogging and picnicking may resume as of Wednesday (Sept 11).

MBSA also expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation during the closure.

The park had been closed from 8pm to 7am daily from Sept 4 to facilitate efforts to capture the crocodile.

The 1.68m saltwater crocodile was successfully trapped at around 10.30pm the same day.

On Tuesday (Sept 11), the Selangor Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) confirmed that lake is safe and no other crocodiles have been detected.

The two crocodile traps installed at the lake were removed on Saturday (Sept 7). – Bernama
