SOME 100 people from the business community attended a free e-invoicing seminar organised by Selangor and Federal Territory Hainan Association.

Attendees got an overview of the MyInvois system by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) that started on Aug 1.

The association’s economic bureau head Andy Lee Heng Khen said the seminar was held after numerous requests from members.

“Many in the business community are still confused about the system,” he said when contacted.

“So, we saw the need to educate them on the matter, especially those in the small and medium enterprises sector.”

Lee said the organisers targeted 50 participants but the actual number of attendees was double that figure.

“The response was encouraging from both association members and the public,” he added.

The seminar was held at Thean Hou Convention Hall in Kuala Lumpur.

“It was conducted by tax consultant Winson Tan, who has more than two decades of experience and who volunteered his services for free,” said Lee.

He said feedback from participants was positive.

“Many said that the session was concise and clear. We plan to organise more seminars for the business community if there is a need in the future,” Lee added. — By VIJENTHI NAIR
