A RUN saw two schools and four organisations benefitting from the funds raised, thanks to developer Mitraland Group.
The 10th Annual Unity Fun Run at Gravit8, Kota Bayuemas in Klang, Selangor, was part of the property group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
SJK (C) Pin Hwa 1 received RM48,000 while SJK (C) Pin Hwa 2 was given RM58,000.
The funds were raised through registration fees collected from participants of the run.
Mitraland Group sales and marketing general manager Yan Ong Kuan Yuen explained that the group’s tradition of supporting schools and media partners through charity foundations enable them to help communities.
The four media organisations that received contributions were Sin Chew Foundation (RM15,000), Star Foundation (RM10,000), The Edge Education Foundation (RM15,000) and Berita Harian-Unit Joran (RM10,000).
Star Media Group’s group marketing and corporate communications senior manager Christine Wong said Star Foundation was empowered by the contribution received from Mitraland.
“They have been very supportive of Star Foundation all these years.
“At Star Foundation, we remain committed to sustainable and impactful social initiatives so that no one will be left out,” she added.
Sin Chew Foundation social communication and public relations advisor Low Kon Sin said it was grateful for Mitraland Group’s generous and continuous support in reaching out to the community.
Yan said the run had lived up to its slogan of “Run for Unity, Race for Charity”.
“It united 3,000 people in a display of community spirit and charity,” she said.
Yan added that this year’s run also marked the successful launch of “i8nite Your Dreams”, a campaign aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs.
“The campaign provides aspiring business owners with financial assistance, guidance, and the resources necessary to bring innovative ideas to life.”
Also present at the event were The Edge Malaysia senior programme manager Munita Tan and Berita Harian executive production editor Nazarudin Abu Bakar.
