SELANGOR Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) has built a concrete drain to replace an eroded earth drain at the embankment of Sungai Kuyoh off Jalan Bukit Serdang 8/1A, Taman Bukit Serdang in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said Taman Bukit Serdang residents were glad that the earth drain, near a children’s playground, had been fortified.

“Following soil erosion in April, DID placed concrete to strengthen the earth drain.

“We believe the concrete pipes will help with surface runoff,” she said after inspecting the site with area councillor Tey Boon Kiat and resident Chong Yew Choy, 63.

Tey said the cost of rebuilding the drain was RM45,000.
