Penang National Day parade a vibrant celebration of unity

THE state-level National Day parade at the Esplanade in Georgetown, Penang was a vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s 67th year of independence.

Showcasing unity and cultural diversity, the parade featured colourful floats and lively performances from various groups.

Penang’s rich heritage and traditions were on display as performing artistes from various communities came together for the celebration.

An event highlight was the disciplined marching of participants from 126 contingents.

The contingents saw 7,190 people on foot and 1,078 in 20 convoys of motorbikes, cars and even lorries, totalling 714 vehicles.

Through impressive displays of precision, the parade exemplified Malaysia’s commitment to progress and harmony.

The celebration continues today on Malaysia Day with another grand event at Dewan Milenium in Kepala Batas.

Festivities there will also showcase Malaysia’s diverse heritage and unity as a tribute to the country’s history and achievements.
