SUNWAY Medical Centre (SMC) in Sunway City, Petaling Jaya in Selangor, began its 25th anniversary celebration with its annual SunMed Health Carnival.

Bringing community members together to broaden healthcare education and awareness, the carnival was held at the lobby of Tower D.

The event received overwhelming response from visitors who enjoyed a vibrant array of family-friendly and health education activities.

SMC chief executive officer Dr Seow Vei Ken said at the event: “The carnival is more than just a symbol of our ongoing commitment towards being inclusive and providing healthcare excellence to the community.

“It also serves as a fun and engaging space that brings everyone together and celebrates their health and well-being.

“I am a firm believer that our carnival fosters a strong sense of community and helps educate people on the importance of making informed decisions toward adopting healthier lifestyles.”

To bridge the gap between healthcare and fun, visitors enjoyed various health-themed educational games including games on memory, hand-eye coordination, and endurance games that were suited for both adults and children.

They also put on their creative caps to produce painted masterpieces during its first hands-on batik arts and crafts workshop.

The carnival also featured health screening booths, providing patrons the opportunity to assess their overall health.

These included vision tests, speech and hearing check-ups, screenings on body composition as well as kidney and urinary health, and information on physical rehabilitation and diabetic care.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed brand partners whose generous support and collaboration were instrumental in the success of this year’s carnival.

“Their contributions to our complimentary screenings, exclusive door gifts and premium lucky draw prizes greatly enriched the experience for all attendees, enabling us to provide valuable health services, education and rewards to the community.

“We look forward to organising more fun and engaging community outreach programmes as part of our ongoing efforts to elevate the standard of healthcare in the region, especially since we are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year,” said Dr Seow.

According to its media statement, SMC is the largest private quaternary hospital in Malaysia.
