Sibu Kidney Foundation (SKF) will host a health day and kidney awareness event on Oct 8.

The event, organised in collaboration with University of Technology Sarawak’s (UTS) Centre for Research of Innovation and Sustainable Development, will be held from 8am to 11am at UTS Academic Resource Centre.

“The programme aims to increase awareness of kidney health and offer the local community free health consultations and screenings,” the foundation said in a statement.

Highlights of the event include a kidney awareness talk titled “Care for Your Kidney” at 8.30am, along with blood tests to gauge health, glucose and cholesterol levels.

“The first 100 participants who register online will enjoy free glucose and cholesterol tests.

“Priority will be given to those aged 50 and above,” SKF added.
