Floods: Kg Melayu Subang inundated after downpour

FLOODWATERS have risen in Kampung Melayu Subang following a downpour on Thursday (Oct 3).

In a Facebook post at about 5.30pm Thursday, Kota Damansara assemblyman Izuan Kasim said the district disaster unit, Pantas Skuad (emergency response unit) and the police had been notified.

When contacted, Izuan confirmed that some roads in the area had been inundated.

“Some of the areas affected are Jalan Merbau, Jalan Cengal, Jalan Bukit Badak, Jalan Jati, Jalan PKNS, Jalan Tembusu, Desa Subang Perantau and Section U3,” he told StarMetro.

He added that the flood on Thursday recorded higher water levels than the April flood in the same area.

“Today's incident reached 2.0m at its peak, and the incident in April reached 1.9m.”

TikTok user "CikPuan Jelita", who is also a resident, went live and highlighted that water levels had risen to knee level.

She added that several vehicles could not be rescued in time.
